The Bach Ensemble of Edinburgh return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Canongate Kirk for the 12th time with a programme featuring exciting young soloists Angela Hicks (soprano) and Hannah Foster (flute) performing Bach's solo cantata Ich Habe Genug. Musicians of Opera Settecento 

A recital by ravishing soprano, Angela Hicks, charting the career of one of Handel’s most famous stars, Francesca Cuzzoni. Opera Settecento will perform music by Vivaldi and Orlandini, on which Cuzzoni cut her teeth, and will follow her meteoric rise through the music of Handel, as well as her treacherous defection to Handel’s rivals’ opera company with music by Porpora and Hasse.

Christmas Revels in seventeenth-century London

The City Musick – an ensemble of seven versatile musicians – performs festive dances and carols sung and played on the joyous sound of shawms, cornetts, sackbuts, dulcians, regals, recorders and bagpipes.

A brand new carol service in the Christmas offerings of St Bartholomew the Great—music from the Middle Ages, with readings from the Wycliffe Bible, set in the mediæval wonder of our ancient Priory Church. Period instruments will accompany the choir, and the congregation will join in with some of the hymns of the era.
